This position is assigned to the pay plan based on the experience of the candidate and the credential or degree achieved by the candidate.
Supervisor:

Minimum Qualifications:
1.High School Diploma or GED
2.Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
or an equivalent or higher credential that addresses comparable
competencies; or must begin the credential within 6 months of employment
3.Willing to obtain training and experience necessary to develop consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with young children.
4.Complete all employee records as required.
5.Pass drug screenings and unlimited criminal history checks.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
1. Communicate effectively with children, their parents, and other staff.
2. Provide quality, nurturing care to children enrolled in the program.
3. Demonstrate skills to properly address developmental needs of young children.

- Provide for the physical safety of each child from arrival time until departure.

Job Description:
The Assistant Teacher opening is for a classroom of children from 13 months-2 years old. The Assistant Teacher must be 21 years or older, and is responsible for the developmentally appropriate care and education of children enrolled in the center, in accordance with both the state regulations for childcare and the policies and mission of Manchester Early Learning Center. The Assistant Teacher accepts responsibility for executing duties as directed by the Executive Director.
Job Status:
Hourly, full or part time. Benefits as stated in Personnel Policy Handbook
Hours of work and schedule are determined weekly.
Job Classification and Compensation:
This position is assigned to the pay plan based on credential or degree of the teacher.

necessary for proving quality services.
